I've been wanting a set of alphabet
stamps for aaaaaages, but I couldn't find one that was just right. Then,
a few weeks ago, I found one that was exactly what I was after. AND the
stamps came in a cute little wooden box. So, of course, I HAD to get it there
and then!
Here it is.....
Don't you love the little box?!?
My first attempt at using the stamps wasn't great. I kept getting blotches around the edges of the letters. Here's my first bit of stamping.....
I've been working on improving my stamping skills over the past week. It's getting better, slowly. I'd be grateful of any tips, though.
Can you guess what I've been using my stamps for??? I'll be posting about it soon.....

Oh these stamps are adorable!! Can't wait to see what you're using them for! I think I could see them being used for some cute tags on your bags and things you sell!

Arnt they gorgeous...do you mind if I ask where they were from? looking forward to seeing what you do :-) x
ReplyDeletehe he Carly - those stamps are my current favourite (and used on LOADS of my products)
ReplyDeleteThey are made harder by the fact that the letters aren't always in the middle of the stamp.
The only way I reckon you can get better is practise. It's the only way to get to know them. Get some small squared paper (like the french notebooks) and try to get the letters in the middle of the square.
Hours of fun

(you can use them in fimo too)
Ooh, ooh, very tempting! Where did you find them Carly? You've intrigued me as to what you're making ... Christmas cards?
ReplyDeleteThey bring back memories for me of the printing sets we used to get at christmas when I was young.Naturally not as good back then though but I loved them. I'd like some of the metal stamps Kirstie used on her christmas special last year with baking clay to make gift tags and decorations.
ReplyDeleteLOVE these :) I am not sure you need to make them more uniform ... the charm of these stamps is that they are off kilter and stamp the edges. They really are lovely.
ReplyDeleteOne tip you could try, is use the ink to gently dab the rubber stamp part, rather than dabbing the rubber into the ink (hope that made sense!) That way you can guide the ink a little better. Can't wait to see your next project :)

Wish I could advise you, but I'm a lousy stamper! Looking forward to seeing your makes. XX
ReplyDeleteOh pleeeeease where did you get them? I've wanted alphabet stamps for ages but it's hard buying online without seeing them. Your stamp work looks great. Can't wait to see the lovely Christmassy things you make with them. Ooooh so exciting.

Very cute stamp set, disadvantage is that sometimes you get the wood mark when u stamp would recommend to use stamps that you can attach to glass and than you can clearly see where you stamping without the marks . Have a look at stamping up website they have great stamps .lokking forward to your next post :) Jana
