I’m just stopping by quickly today, to show you a few of the cheap and cheerful bits and bobs I bought while we were in England.
I bought some buttons. Well, of course I did – I just can’t help myself!!! If you live in England, in the Midlands, I recommend Crafty Corner (in Atherstone). They sell all sorts of stuff (mostly yarn and knitting patterns), but I go there for the buttons. They’re just so cheap! These little pretties only cost me between 5p and 12p each!!!
My favourites are the little owls!
I also bought a really sweet little book from a charity book shop.
It’s a little bit battered and tattered, but I fell for it and had to buy it. I wanted to show you all the pages, because I love the way the colours have been matched up on each double-page spread.
My favourite pages are ‘3 cotton reels’ and ‘8 beads’! I think the colours are extra-specially great on these pages. Which page appeals to you most?
I’ll be back soon, to show you some craft books I bought while we were away.....
Carly

Hia Carly,
ReplyDeleteAre you planning on doing anything with the book craft wise ? I always see the potential in cutting up books for crafts ... but never can quite do it!

Hi Carly if its battered and tattered then some child will have previously loved it.Thats what makes it all the more special.
ReplyDeleteThe older childrens picture books are definitely the prettiest..........and who could resist such colourful buttons.

Great finds! Love the buttons, especially the owls! So cute!
ReplyDeleteI'm all for the 9 marbles pages! I love the blue red combo and the beautiful marbles! What a cute book; it's colorful, simple, has lovely photographs, and I hope this doesn't sound weird, but I love the composition of the large square (I think it's a square) over the rectangle at the bottom. The whole book I think is great inspiration for a diy project for or with kids!
5 sweets, of course! I live in the Midlands and will have to check out that shop, I love buttons xxx
ReplyDeleteGreat finds, buttons always seem to be so expensive, my favourite is the cotton reel page maybe because I like sewing? Thank you so much for the crochet link, when I have time I am going to sit in front of it until I master the hook! xx
