We were out on a little ‘Sunday Drive’ last weekend, just a
few miles from home, when we came across THIS:
Now THAT’S what I call yarn bombing!!! As you can see, pretty-much EVERYTHING was
covered in pieces of knitting or crochet:
the wall, the fence, the gate, the door, the shutters, the windowsills,
the big tree, the planters, the ivy, and the..... horse!?!
I didn’t even need to say anything to Simon. He knew what had to be done, and pulled over
to let me and the camera out.
He knows me well!!!
This wonderful place is a clothing and gift shop called Punch
and Judy, in Lohausen. I’ve never been
inside, but I do plan on a visit in the VERY near future. The same people also have a ridiculously
quaint-looking cafe, just down the road from the shop. You should definitely check out the website,
here. I don’t want to spoil the
surprise, but it’s VERY cute – and VERY German.....
Now, I wonder what the neighbours would say if I decided to
get myself a big plastic horsey and a stack of yarn, and tried to create my
own woolly wonderland right here.....

Oh wow!! I hope the inside of the store doesn't disappoint compared to the cool outside!! How funny would it be to put a yarn bombed plastic horse like that secretly into a neighbors yard?! Hahaha!!!

Hi sweet Carly, Wow! This is amazing sweetie and so beautiful too! Your Simon is a sweetheart... my Adam would do the same. I am so glad you took photos and shared with us. I am sure that took a lot of work, but I hope they had fun! It is very cheerful and I especially love the horse! I think you should get a plastic horsey and have fun! I hope your Friday and weekend will be wonderful! Lots of love, Paula

ReplyDeleteWow I think it's fab, especially the horse, yes you should so get a plastic horse or a sheep maybe? I wonder how much wool you would need? I don't think the neighbours would mind it would be awesome :)

sorry, a bit behind with catching up on my blog reading - this is pure bonkers! I'm not sure I quite 'get' yarn bombing, but this is something else! To think I don't have the commitment to start a granny square blanket, as much as I'd love one, but someone put all that effort in to hang one on a fence!
