Narrow Boat Holiday

I’m running a bit behind with my posts.  I’ve got SO many projects and trips and bits and bobs to share with you.....  I need to pull my socks up and get on with it!

It’s a few weeks late, but here are some photos from our brilliant narrow boat trip (on the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal), with our lovely friends.....

What a fantastic holiday!  If you’ve never been on a barge trip, we’d all highly recommend it.  What’s not to love about it?!?  It’s relaxing, peaceful, there’s plenty of wildlife spotting (and people-watching) to be done, beautiful scenery, heaps of photo-opportunities, pubs to stop at along the way, locks (my most exciting bit), tunnels (also exciting) and..... it’s just LOTS of fun!

Have a little look at the Brecon Park Boats site if you fancy giving it a try (we’d highly recommend them too).

Do you have any unusual holiday recommendations?  I'd love to hear your suggestions if you do.....

  2. Yes Carly! Boat holidays are wonderful, aren't they? I went MANY years ago with my best friend and her parents (I was a teenager) and I found it absolutely fab. I think the people watching probably inspired me more than the nature watching at the time but now.. I think both would be great :-)

  5. Looks like a lot of fun! Your pictures look so lovely too.

I've always fancied one of those intensive language learning holidays where you go to France or Italy and live in the middle of no where with a group of people and just have no choice but to learn their language! (In the sunshine with beautiful scenery!!)

  9. It looks like a great break. I'd love to give canal boating a go, but even though many of the boat hire companies allow dogs on board I'm really not sure how the whippets would cope. My best guess is two would want to be in the water the whole while and the other three would be cowering in a corner!
