Autumn Bits and Bobs

A couple of weekends ago, we went for a Sunday afternoon walk.  I decided to take a 'nature bag' with me, like I used to when I was a little girl.  There was a lot to collect and, when I got my loot home, I set to work turning it into a little autumn bits and bobs display.....

No matter how old you are, bring back nature bags on Sunday walks, I say!!!

Sunflowers and Pumpkins

We went for a very autumny walk last weekend, and saw so many lovely things to photograph.  I took lots and lots and lots of snaps!  My favourites, though, are the ones I took of two of the fields we walked through.  They made me appreciate the arrival of autumn.  And I thought I'd share some autumny love with you.

The first field we came to was a field of pick-your-own flowers.  We have a few of these around here, and I think it's a lovely idea.  You just pick what you fancy and pop a few coins in an honesty box.  There were a few different kinds of flowers to be picked, but the sunflowers stole the show.....

Over the road and down the lane, we arrived at a pumpkin patch.  I've seen a few pumpkins growing  together before (in gardens and vegetable patches), but I'd never seen a whole field of them before - all shapes, sizes and colours.....

And, lastly, a little butterfly.....

I hope you're all enjoying the onset of autumn.  There's lots of prettiness to be found - you just have to look a bit harder to find it than you do in spring or summer!

Signs of Spring Along the Rhein

Just before we left on our little trip to the UK, we went for a walk along the Rhein.  I took my camera with me, with the intention of snapping any ‘signs of spring’ I spotted along our route.  I also took a few piccies of the river and the old part of our village.  Here are a couple of my favourites.....

Since we’ve been back in the UK, spring has REALLY arrived.  The weather has been (mostly) glorious, there are daffodils everywhere, and the trees are already looking very green and leafy.

I’m hoping that Germany will have caught up with Britain in its level of ‘springiness’ when we get back home.  I’m enjoying all this greenness and – more importantly - I want to test-drive the summery frock and cardigan I picked up at M&S today!  Fingers crossed!!!
